If you are a current BSIS (BSIS website) security guard or desire to become one and obtain a permit to carry an exposed weapon, while on duty in the performance of your security occupation, WHD offers a course so you can obtain your BSIS exposed firearms permit.

Initial Fee is $300.00.  THIS FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE ALL OTHER FEES ASSOCIATED WITH OBTAINING A BSIS FIREARMS PERMIT.

This course will cover the mandatory 8 hour lecture and range time for you to submit your application for the exposed permit.  The lecture will consist of current laws pertaining to use of a firearm as a security guard, transporting a weapon in a vehicle, justifiable and non-justifiable use of deadly force, BSIS policy’s, rules and regulations, scenario discussions on use of force options, etc.

Renewal Fees A & B:

A: $65.00

Renewal fee is $65.00, provided that there is a minimum of six (6) or more persons requalifying on the day of the range shoot. BSIS requalification requirements are due within a four (4)—six (6) month time period during the two (2) year firearms permit use.

B: $75.00

$75.00 for five (5) or less

What to bring to the Range:

• Dress and wear all gear as if you are going 10-8.
• Minimum of 60 rounds of factory ammunition for each firearm. NO RELOADS!
• Eye protection
• Ear protection
• Water, sufficient amount for the weather of day.
• Hat/cover (optional)
