This is a “By Appointment Only” class with a minimum of 3 people required per class. Sign up and we will contact you to set up a time.

The purpose of this course is to teach the fundamentals of the shotgun (12, 20, or .410 gauge).  This course will benefit those who have none or have some basic working knowledge of a shotgun(s) but would like a refresher.  We will cover the use of a shotgun for home defense vs. a pistol, what type of ammunition to use, spread pattern, accessories, safe storage, transportation and more:

Equipment to bring:

  • 50 rounds of (00) or #4buck
  • 130 rounds of Birdshot
  • 20 slugs
  • Clean and oiled weapon
  • Sling for the shotgun

Other Items:

  • Hat/cover for the sun
  • Eye protection—wrap around the eyes are preferred.
  • Sun glasses are good for a daytime shoot.
  • Ear protection
  • No tank tops
  • No low cut top, tops with an open midriff, no cleavage showing or going bra less.
  • Sturdy shoes of some kind. No open toed shoes or dress shoes or high heels of any kind.
  • No real tight pants that you cannot place items (like magazines) in the pockets.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for the weather of the day. We shoot wind, heat, humidity or shine. 

Optional Items:

  • WATER Bring a sufficient amount
  • Food/snack(s) (enough to get YOU through the course).
  • Sunscreen
  • Folding chair
  • Knee Pads
