This is a “By Appointment Only” class. Sign up and we will contact you to set up a time.

The purpose of this course is to teach anyone who has never shot a handgun or has very little experience with a handgun.  The formal teaching will be predominately lecture; with Q&A. This course will cover:

  • Self-defense laws
  • Transporting a weapon
  • Choosing a weapon
  • Safe storage
  • Cleaning a gun
  • Grip
  • Proper stance
  • Triger squeeze
  • Breathing
  • Sight alignment
  • Sight picture
  • Follow through
  • Loading/unloading
  • Caliber(s)
  • Revolver vs. Semi-auto
  • Gun Safety
  • Nomenclature
  • The Draw
  • Re-holstering
  • And MORE!

Equipment to bring:

  • At least two magazines or two speed loaders if using a revolver
  • Minimum of 250 rounds for each weapon. NO RELOADS! Only factory ammunition.
  • Quality holster for each weapon that will be attached to a very sturdy belt. Holster can be inside the waist band (IWB) or outside the waist band (OWB).
  • Strong sturdy belt. No thin dress belts
  • Hat/cover for the sun
  • Eye protection—wrap around the eyes are preferred.
  • Sun glasses are good for a daytime shoot.
  • Ear protection
  • No tank tops
  • No low cut top, tops with an open midriff, no cleavage showing or going bra less.
  • Sturdy shoes of some kind. No open toed shoes or dress shoes or high heels of any kind.
  • No real tight pants that you cannot place items (like magazines) in the pockets.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for the weather of the day. We shoot wind, heat, humidity or shine.
